Ascending Lights academic mentors are the gifted “coaches” who share the joys and sorrows of our students as they progress through our program. They perform a vital role for us. At the same time, they have the privilege of performing one of the most rewarding volunteer assignments that one could ever imagine.
“As a probation officer I work with troubled youth every week. Mentoring Garry (my student) has been a real joy of my life. It has told me that, with God, a young person can overcome any difficulty and achieve greatness. I consider it a privilege to be able to offer my opinions and guidance to Garry, but after every meeting I always urge him to take everything before God before making his final decision.”
